Specialized Support for Complex Needs

My practice is dedicated to helping individuals who carry significant responsibilities, often juggling demanding systems and needing tailored, expert support. I focus on three key populations:

• Adults & Young Adults: You've mastered the art of “having it all together", but the relentless pressure has led to profound anxiety and fatigue. I help individuals who are constantly pushing themselves but feel disconnected or emotionally drained. We focus on dismantling the self-monitoring and impossible standards that fuel burnout.

Caregiver Stress: I specialize in supporting caregivers who are navigating the unique and often overwhelming challenges of caring for loved ones with developmental, medical, or chronic conditions. Whether you're struggling with fatigue, anxiety, or feelings of isolation, I am here to ensure that your well-being matters too.

Neurodivergent Adults: I provide neurodiversity-affirming counseling for adults navigating life with Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, or other learning disabilities. I help clients understand and adapt to the challenges of executive function, sensory overload, and the stress of masking in a neurotypical world. We work to build personalized systems and authentic self-acceptance.

Moving Beyond Survival to Thriving

My approach is built on nearly two decades of intensive clinical experience at leading Rhode Island institutions. I use that depth of knowledge to give you something practical: long-term skills you can use right away. We move beyond just managing symptoms to develop a life that is truly sustainable for you. This includes:

• Building Firm Psychological Boundaries: Strategies that protect your energy and establish new rules of engagement.

• Mastering Emotional Regulation: Developing skills tailored to the intensity and fluctuation of emotions under stress.

• Creating Personalized Systems: Designing daily routines and coping mechanisms that work with your unique brain and life structure, not against it.

My goal is to help you reclaim your balance and resilience so you can stop surviving and start thriving—authentically and sustainably.

Effective, research-driven care

My practice utilizes evidence-based therapies and a wide range of specialized techniques, including but not limited to, the following approaches:

Family Systems Therapy: Family Systems Therapy views an individual's challenges within the context of their larger relationships, focusing on patterns of interaction and emotional roles in your family of origin or current partnerships. By understanding how these system dynamics influence your feelings and behaviors, we can work to break cycles of conflict, establish healthier emotional boundaries, and address issues like anxiety or burnout. This framework allows you to make deep, lasting changes to your own well-being, even if others in the system aren't participating in therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): We’ll work together to identify the specific thoughts and behavioral patterns that contribute to anxiety and stress, providing you with practical tools to achieve measurable change.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Informed Strategies: Invaluable for managing the intense emotional swings and emotional drainage common in burnout and caregiving. DBT skills focus on emotional regulation to manage overwhelming feelings and distress tolerance to cope with difficult moments.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT helps you find peace by building psychological flexibility, allowing you to respond to difficult thoughts and feelings in a new way. It helps clarify your core values—what truly matters—so you can commit to actions that bring meaning and purpose back into your life, even amidst demands.

My goal is to create a space where you can explore your feelings, build resilience, and develop practical skills to improve your mental well-being across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and beyond.
